PTC Hosts Nasdaq Opening Bell Ceremony

On Monday, June 26, in acknowledgement of PTC’s 10th anniversary as a public company, PTC had the unique opportunity to open the Nasdaq stock exchange in New York City.

The special opening bell ceremony event was held from 8:30 – 10:00 a.m. at the Nasdaq MarketSite in Times Square. Dr. Matthew Klein, CEO, was joined by other PTC team members at the event and gave opening remarks before ringing the bell, which signifies the opening of the day’s trading.

The iconic bell ringing ceremony, hosted by Karen Snow, Senior Vice President and Head of U.S. Listings and Revenue at Nasdaq MarketSite, was a special opportunity to showcase PTC and celebrate its achievements and milestones before a global audience. For PTC, this ceremony was to honor the company’s successful IPO in the U.S. public markets in 2013.

As part of the ceremony, the event was live streamed online and on the tower in Times Square. Dr. Klein shared a brief speech before the bell ringing took place:

“This is an incredibly exciting day as we not only celebrate PTC’s 25th anniversary, but also the 10th anniversary of PTC’s Initial Public Offering. PTC was founded 25 years ago with the bold mission of using pioneering science to develop meaningful therapies for patients who don’t have them. We’ve succeeded in this mission, and have built a global biopharmaceutical company that discovers, develops and commercializes transformative therapies for patients with rare disorders.

“The driving force behind this success is our amazing global team of 1400 members. This team is dedicated to our patient-first philosophy and comes to work every day to do their part to help deliver medicines to patients who desperately need them. So, on behalf of these team members, our board of directors and all of our PTC stakeholders, we thank you for this honor of celebrating both our 25th anniversary as a company, and our 10th anniversary of our IPO. We look forward to coming back in ten years to share the next group of successes from the next important chapter in the PTC story.”

Thank you to everyone who joined us in person and virtually to celebrate this historic event!
