In 2020, PTC launched its Talent Pipeline Program (TPP) with the goal of creating opportunities for new graduates during a time when many talented and hardworking students were rightfully worried about being able to enter the workforce.

As we open our application period for our second “class” today, we checked in with a few TPP “alumni” – who are now full-time PTC employees.

TPP is a one-year, immersive, global fellowship aimed at providing recent graduates real-world experience in the biopharmaceutical industry and related professions.

Our alumni group comes from a variety of departments at PTC, including legal, regulatory, and pharmacology, reflecting the diversity of professions represented by this fellowship program. Here, they reflect on their experiences and encourage anyone interested to apply.

Gregory Starks, Manager Legal Associate (US)

GregoryThe most rewarding part of my informative and transformative TPP experience was having the opportunity to work for a purpose and be a part of PTC, a company that researches, develops, and commercializes products for rare diseases.

Being able to work in an environment where everyone around you provides support so that you can work at your best is amazing.

I encourage anyone interested in applying for this one-of-a-kind program to do so. The TPP will provide a multitude of opportunities to build knowledge and gain industry-ready experience. Fellows transition from academia to starting a career with commercial awareness and readiness.

Kaleema Lewis, Contract Research Associate, Pharmacology and Biomarkers (US)

KaleemaMy experience in the TPP has been very rewarding and informative. I have gained a tremendous amount of knowledge in the area of research. I was fortunate to do this in an innovative, state-of-the-art facility where I was encouraged, supported, and rewarded for my hard work and talent.

I am most proud that the research that I am doing as a part of the Pharmacology team may one day lead to a treatment or cure that could improve the quality of life for people with debilitating diseases.

From my experience in the TPP, I would encourage anyone to apply and not miss the opportunity to become a part of a team of like-minded people who will support and cultivate their growth.

Umbreen Majid, Staff Specialist Regulatory Affairs (US)

UmbreenMy experience in the TPP was extremely fulfilling, and through it I have gained many skills and made connections which have further solidified my decision to pursue a career in the industry.

The most rewarding part of my experience was seeing how open the company was to ideas and initiatives. My current full-time position in Regulatory Affairs was created as a result of analyzing gaps in our current process and determining where our department needed resources. This experience has allowed me to learn while also growing my skills.

The TPP provides an opportunity for recent graduates to not only demonstrate that new talent can be invaluable to a company, but also provides the graduates an experience to open doors for the rest of their career.

In my opinion, the best part of PTC is its strong, patient-centric company culture, which is also driven to motivate you and your colleagues to grow with and learn from each other.

Helena Feijo, Analyst Legal (Sao Paolo, Brazil)

HelenaMy TPP experience was incredible. I had the opportunity to work with different areas and grow personally and professionally.

The visibility that PTC gives to all employees was a rewarding part of my experience. It’s clear that PTC takes the “#OncePTC” mindset seriously.

I encourage recent graduates to apply to be part of this great team and explore all that PTC can offer.

Luke Millington, Patient Engagement Specialist (UK)

The TPP gave me the opportunity to work alongside a great team of people who are focused on achieving one goal: improving the lives of those suffering from a rare disease.

Through the program, I gained an in-depth understanding of the key roles each department plays within a pharmaceutical company, and the working environment. This in turn enabled me to develop skills that are vital to be successful within a company. I also received excellent guidance and support and met other interns from across the world.

If the opportunity to apply arises, I would definitely go for it!
