Patient Engagement Liaison

Emily is a proud Patient Engagement Liaison at PTC Therapeutics. She has always had a deep passion for helping, supporting, and uplifting others. She holds a Bachelor’s degree from Florida State University and a Master’s degree from Illinois State University. With an educational background in Child Life, Emily dedicated her studies to learning how to advocate for children and families during their hospital experiences. She worked to simplify complex medical information, ensuring it was accessible and understandable, while developing personalized coping strategies, preparation tools, and educational resources.

In her role, Emily is deeply committed to empowering individuals and families navigating life with a rare disease. Her enthusiasm for providing resources, education, support, and community is matched by her dedication to family-centered care. Emily recognizes the profound impact a rare disease diagnosis has on the entire family system. Emily’s personal tie to the rare disease community is through her husband, who is living with Narcolepsy Type 1.

In her free time, Emily enjoys spending time reading, going for walks, and spending time with family and friends.
