Patient Engagement Liaison

Sommer Gaughan, MPH, RDN, has been a metabolic dietitian in the Section of Clinical Genetics and Metabolism at Children’s Hospital Colorado and the CU School of Medicine for over 16 years. She earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Florida and a master’s degree in Public Health, specializing in Health Promotion, Education, and Behavior, from the University of South Carolina. Sommer has contributed to multiple peer-reviewed publications, clinical trials, and the development of patient-focused educational materials and programs. She is passionate about addressing challenges in chronic care management for rare diseases and supporting patients and their families as they navigate these complexities.
