People living with rare diseases have many strengths, abilities and ambitions. One of them is playing and engaging in sports. This October, the 2023 FIPFA Powerchair Football World Cup is taking place in Sydney, Australia and the world’s best powerchair footballers are coming together to compete for the 2023 trophy.
PTC is proud to support the event with a premier sponsorship and welcome everyone to powerchair football.
Powerchair football is one of the fastest growing sports for people with disabilities and is played in 30 nations across Europe, the Americas and Asia-Pacific. It is fast-paced and highly tactical and showcases the athletes’ incredible skills with the ball at their wheels.
The event takes place October 15-21 at the Sydney Olympic Park, home of the 2000 Olympic Games.
Competing nations include Argentina, Australia, Denmark, England, France, Ireland, Japan, Northern Ireland, Uruguay and United States of America.
“PTC’s sponsorship will help to make the 2023 FIPFA World Cup the spectacle it deserves to be,” says Matt Cross, member of the organizing committee, founder and president of the Australian and NSW Powerchair Football Associations
“Powerchair Football is a sport on the rise, but we need help to allow this progress to continue. Staging any major event is an expensive exercise. In powerchair football, this is more expensive as all athletes require the support of family, friends and support workers to allow them to compete. Our elite athletes are proof that people of all physical abilities have immense talent and can achieve incredible things. Help us to inspire all powerchair users and let them dream about one day representing their country,” says Matt Cross.
PTC is extremely proud to be a partner and to support athletes with different levels of disabilities and abilities to come together for a spectacular sporting event.
