María Laura

María Laura has been working with patients affected by rare diseases since 2011. Since 2017 she is in charge of the Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD) area in PTC’s Patient Services Department.

Her work requires her to interact with patient associations, in order for patients and their families to receive therapy which will improve their quality of life.

María Laura previously worked for the Muscular Dystrophy Association of Argentina (ADM) for nearly three years. She has also worked very closely with the ADM multidisciplinary team, helping patients get the best possible care as well as providing community resources and guidance.

María Laura had a brother with DMD, and she is a carrier. She transformed her personal experience of Duchenne into an opportunity to work with the Duchenne community. She is personally committed to the PTC rare disease mission.
