ARIAD Pharmaceuticals, Inc.
Harvey Berger, M.D. has served as a member of PTC's board of directors since September 2000. Dr. Berger is the principal founder and a director of ARIAD Pharmaceuticals, Inc., a biotechnology company. He has served as ARIAD's Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer since April 1991, and served as ARIAD's President from April 1991 to September 2003 and from December 2004 to present. From 1986 to 1991, Dr. Berger held a series of senior management positions at Centocor, Inc., a biotechnology company, including Executive Vice President and President, Research and Development Division. He also has held senior academic and administrative appointments at Emory University, Yale University and the University of Pennsylvania and was an Established Investigator of the American Heart Association, Inc. Dr. Berger received his A.B. degree in Biology from Colgate University and his M.D. degree from Yale University School of Medicine and did further medical and research training at the Massachusetts General Hospital and Yale-New Haven Hospital.
