Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center Dr. Marks is President Emeritus and member of the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, and head of the Developmental Cell Biology Laboratory. He is the founder of ATON Pharma, Inc. a biotechnology company which is now a wholly owned subsidiary of Merck. He is Director Emeritus of Pfizer, serves as an emeritus member of the board of directors of several Dreyfus Mutual Funds, Senior Advisor to Lazard Freres and Chairman of the Board of ARMGO Pharma, a biotechnology start-up. Dr. Marks is a professor of medicine at Cornell University Joan and Sanford I. Weill Medical College and Graduate School of Medical Sciences. He received the President's National Medal of Science and was elected to the National Academy of Sciences and Institute of Medicine. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and The American Philosophical Society. Dr. Marks has published over 400 scientific articles in various scholarly journals and has served as editor-in-chief of The Journal of Clinical Investigation and the journal Blood. He obtained his doctorate from Columbia University College of Physician and Surgeons.
