Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center
Dr. Marks is President Emeritus and Member of the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, and Head of the Developmental Cell Biology Laboratory. He was Founder of ATON Pharma, Inc. a biotechnology start-up which is now a wholly owned subsidiary of Merck. He is Director Emeritus of Pfizer; serves on the board of directors of several Dreyfus Mutual Funds, and is Senior Advisor to Lazard Freres. Dr. Marks is Professor of Medicine, Cornell University Joan and Sanford I. Weill Medical College and Graduate School of Medical Sciences. He received the President's National Medal of Science, Member of the National Academy of Sciences and Member, Institute of Medicine. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. He has published over 400 scientific articles in various scholarly journals. Served as editor-in-chief of The Journal of Clinical Investigation and the journal Blood. He obtained his M.D. degree from Columbia University College of Physician and Surgeons.
