PTC believes that targeting post-transcriptional control processes offers opportunities to discover and develop novel therapies for a wide range of diseases.

Currently, our most advanced discovery programs are in the areas of antibacterial therapy, oncology and musculoskeletal disorders. In each of these programs we have identified multiple post-transcriptional targets and compounds that have demonstrated in vitro and, in many cases, in vivo activity. PTC intends to initiate additional discovery programs in disease areas that we believe to be well suited to our approach and for which we believe there is significant unmet medical need and commercial opportunity.
